Hi @MOMMAMAUW20-_,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The E0 error on your HP printer often indicates an issue with the printer's cartridge or printhead assembly, especially following a paper jam. The thumping noise you hear might suggest that something inside the printer is obstructed or misaligned, which could have occurred while clearing the jam.
Here are some steps to try and resolve the issue.
Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source for at least 1 minute. This can sometimes reset internal mechanisms.- Check for any remaining paper or debris inside the printer. Carefully inspect the paper path and ensure nothing is stuck in the rollers, the printhead area, or any other parts of the printer.
- Manually move the cartridges. Gently slide the cartridge carriage back and forth to ensure it's properly seated. Check for any physical obstructions or misalignments.
- Inspect the printhead. If your printer has a removable printhead, carefully remove it and check for any ink buildup or obstructions. Clean it gently with a lint-free cloth or a soft brush.
- Reinstall the cartridges. Remove both cartridges, reinsert them, and make sure they’re securely placed in their respective slots.
- Perform a hard reset. With the printer powered off, press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds before turning the printer back on.
- Check for error codes. After restarting, see if the printer displays any error codes or if the cartridge lights stop flashing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
