HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I have tried all options to clear this E0 code. Most of the time, it is the color cartridge. I have tried:

- re-seating the cartridge

- cleaning the contacts with a soft cloth

- looking for software updates

- resetting the machine

This cartridge came from HP through the instant ink program, so it arrived faulty. I can't believe there are no support options for me because it's out of warranty. I can't get to an expert without paying? Really?

I used to have a Brother printer and will probably go back at this rate. I'm paying a subscription service for a printer I can't use because of an issue I can't get help on without paying for an "expert".

Anyone have any advice besides giving up and buying a different printer?

Hi @containmain,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the E0 code on your HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Replace the Problem Cartridge

  1. If the error persists and is specifically related to the color cartridge, it may be defective or empty. Replacing it with a new genuine HP cartridge might resolve the issue.

Ensure the Printer Firmware is Updated

  1. Visit the HP Support website to verify if the printer firmware is updated to the latest version. An older firmware might not recognize new cartridges correctly.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts Thoroughly

  1. Power off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
  2. Remove the color cartridge and make sure to clean the electrical contacts again with a lint-free cloth possibly moistened with a little water if necessary. Dry them thoroughly afterwards.

Check for Blocked Nozzles

  1. Use the printer’s software utility to run a cleaning cycle for the printhead, if available. This will attempt to clear blocked nozzles that might be creating errors.

Inspect the Cartridge Slot and Printhead

  1. Ensure there are no obstructions or debris in the cartridge slot.
  2. If you suspect the printhead itself might be damaged or misaligned, contacting HP support for further instructions or potential replacements is advisable.

I hope this helps.
