HP ENVY 6055 All-In-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP 6055 Envy printer is displaying an E0 message. I tried re-seating the cartridges, I bought new cartridges, I cleaned the connections but the message won't clear.  However, when I hit the "i" button, an information page prints perfectly.  If the printer will print the information page perfectly, why won't it print my print jobs?

HI @Kris_F,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The E0 error message on your HP 6055 Envy printer typically indicates an issue related to the ink cartridges or the printer's ability to detect them correctly. Since your printer can print an information page but not regular print jobs, it suggests a possible issue with how the printer communicates with the cartridges when processing regular print jobs.

Here are a few steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Sometimes firmware updates can resolve such issues.
  • Go to the HP Customer Support website and search for your printer model.
  • Download and install any available firmware updates.

Hard Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.Check if the error message clears.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.Remove the ink cartridges.
  • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.
  • Let the contacts dry for a few minutes.Reinstall the cartridges and close the access door.Turn on the printer and check if the error persists.

Align the Printhead:

  • Sometimes alignment can help resolve issues with print quality and errors.
  • Use the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app to align the printhead.

Reset the Printer to Factory Settings:

  • Note that this will reset all settings on your printer. From the printer's control panel, navigate to the settings or setup menu.
  • Look for a "Restore Defaults" or "Reset All Settings" option and select it.Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the reset.

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions:

  • Ensure there are no paper jams or any small pieces of paper stuck inside the printer.
  • Open all accessible areas of the printer and check for any obstructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
