Hi @Josadi0405,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

An E2 error on HP printers typically indicates a paper misalignment or a paper jam. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue.

Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the Printer: Check the paper path, including the input tray and output tray.
  • Remove Any Jammed Paper: Carefully pull out any jammed paper. Make sure to check inside the printer for any bits of paper that might be stuck.

Check the Paper Size and Type

  • Paper Specifications: Ensure that the paper you're using matches the printer's specifications. Sometimes, using a different brand or type of paper can cause alignment issues.
  • Paper Tray Adjustments: Make sure the paper guides in the tray are snug against the paper. If they are too loose or too tight, it can cause misalignment.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn Off the Printer: Unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for a Minute: This allows any temporary issues to reset.
  • Plug It Back In and Turn It On: See if the error persists.

Check Printer Settings

  • Printer Settings on Your Device: Sometimes the issue can be related to the settings on the device you’re printing from. Make sure the correct paper size is selected.

Run a Printer Diagnostic

  • Most HP printers come with built-in diagnostics. You can access this through the printer's control panel or HP Smart app if you have it installed. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix any issues.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Check for Updates: Outdated firmware can sometimes lead to error codes. Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP website to see if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
