Hi @Bindi3,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check for Paper Jams
- Turn Off the Printer:
- Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open All Access Points:
- Open the printer’s access doors, including the rear access door (if available).
- Inspect for Paper Debris:
- Carefully check every accessible area of the printer for paper fragments or debris that might be causing the jam.
- Remove Any Found Paper:
- Gently remove any paper or debris you find, being careful not to tear it.
Check and Reset the Cartridges
- Open Cartridge Access Door:
- Open the front cover to access the ink cartridges.
- Remove and Reinsert Cartridges:
- Remove the cartridges and inspect them for any packaging material or debris. Reinsert them securely into their slots.
- Close Cartridge Access Door:
- Ensure the cartridge access door is closed properly.
Restart the Printer
- Power Cycle:
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on again.
- Wait for the printer to go through its startup routine.
Ensure Proper Cartridge Installation
- Reconfirm Cartridge Position:
- Open the cartridge access door and ensure that both cartridges are correctly seated and locked in place.
- Ensure No Obstructions:
- Check that there are no obstructions around the cartridge area.
Reset the Printer
- Hard Reset:
- With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the power source.
- Wait about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the power source and then to the back of the printer.
- Power on the printer.
I hope this helps.
