Hi @Sudh24,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting an E3 error on an HP Smart Tank 516 Wireless All-In-One Printer usually indicates an issue with the printhead or ink system.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Check for Ink Cartridge Issues:
- Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and are not empty or clogged.
- Remove the cartridges and then reinsert them to make sure they are seated correctly.
Check the Printhead:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the printhead access door and carefully remove the printhead.
- Inspect the printhead for any visible damage or obstructions. Clean the printhead contacts gently with a lint-free cloth if necessary.
- Reinstall the printhead and close the access door.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions in the printer. Remove any paper that may be stuck.
Reset the Printer:
- With the printer turned on, unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer on the HP support website. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve error issues.
