Hi @MARKL10,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

An E3 error on your HP Envy 6055 printer indicates a carriage jam or paper jam. If you've already rebooted multiple times and confirmed there isn't a paper jam, try the following steps to resolve the issue:

Check for Obstructions:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Check for any obstructions inside the printer, such as paper clips, torn pieces of paper, or other debris blocking the carriage movement.
  • Move the carriage manually: Gently slide the carriage to the left and right to ensure it moves freely.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer off, disconnect the power cord from both the printer and the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer and plug it directly into a wall outlet.
  • Turn on the printer.

Reinsert Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove and then reinsert each ink cartridge.
  • Ensure they are seated properly.

Clean Carriage Path:

  • Clean any buildup or obstructions in the printer's carriage path.
  • Use a clean, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the path.

Check for Loose or Damaged Parts:

  • Inspect the printer for any loose or damaged parts.
  • Ensure everything is securely in place.
