Hi @Jan1237,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The E6 error code on your HP ENVY 6032e printer usually indicates a paper jam or a carriage jam. Since unplugging the printer didn't resolve the issue, you can try the following steps to clear the error.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Turn off the Printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Open all accessible doors (input tray, output tray, ink cartridge access door) and check for any paper stuck in the printer.
- Gently remove any jammed paper, ensuring there are no small torn pieces left inside.
- Close all the doors and trays.
Check the Carriage Path:
- With the printer turned off and unplugged, open the ink cartridge access door.
- Manually move the carriage (the part holding the ink cartridges) to the left and right to check for any obstructions.
- If you find any obstacles, remove them carefully.
- Close the ink cartridge access door.
Reset the Printer:
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and turn it on.
- Wait for the printer to fully power up and check if the error persists.
Check the Ink Cartridges:
- Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed and there is no debris around the cartridge area.
- Remove the ink cartridges, clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth, and then reinsert them.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP website.
Factory Reset:
- If the issue persists, try a factory reset:
- Turn on the printer.
- Go to the printer’s settings menu (via the control panel or HP Smart app).
- Navigate to the "Restore Defaults" or "Reset" option and select it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
