I have an ENVY 4500 printer, and I am getting ERROR CODE OXB3583D28, all the time, even after disconnecting, powering off, rebooting laptop, etc.  I have a MacBook Air.  Any suggestions please?

Hi @ChrisM6

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "0x.." error.

Let's try these steps to reset the printer -

1) Take out the cartridges.

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Wait for 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not to a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you Asmita6658,  However I can't do your step 1.  When I open the lid nothing happens, the carriage doesn't move, the cartridges remain locked in at the right hand side......   I have done steps two, three, four several times, no result.

Appreciate you trying the steps. This looks like a hardware issue and  I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hi Asmita

I'm in England.  Yes, the printer is out of warranty, but it was working fine, intermittently, just a few days ago.....

Kind regards

Chris

Hi Asmita

Thanks for your message.  I was about to reply that none of the buttons on the front of the printer were active at all, but when I plugged the printer in this morning, it is suddenly working properly again!  So problem (temporarily?) fixed!

Kind regards

Chris
