ENVY 4512 all-in-one Printer
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

I cannot print pics with my new Envy 4512 and I am so frustrated I am crying.  Why is this all so complicated for the average user?  I spent a whole night into the am hours trying to figure it all out and finally by some miracle managed to print six 4 x 6 prints.  Now I keep receiving this prompt: " Runtime Error!  Program: c/windows/syster32/rundll32.exe; This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information. "  I also keep receiving the following prompt:  "Function address 0x77188eac caused a protection fault. (exception code 0xe06d7363)  The application property sheet page(s) may not function properly."   Also my Envy 4510 series printer keeps prompting me on its screen:  "The printer cannot print on paper shorter than 4.5 inches" .   Good people, please help me get my printer able to print pictures on glossy 4 x 6 sheets.  Thank you.

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I understand that that you are unable to Print 4 x 6 pictures and you are also getting a Windows  System 32 run time error

I'll be glad to assist and I'll try my best to get this issue sorted out

I suggest you start with a Printer Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed

Then uninstall the Printer from Root level and download the Full Feature Software and the Firmware

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart the computer and download the Full Feature Software and the Firmware from Here and follow the onscreen Instructions

Note: Please connect the USB cable only when prompted during installation

Also run the System file check to repair the Windows files.

Go to start>Type CMD

Right click and run as Administrator

(called an elevated command prompt)

If you want to verify and repair the OS type sfc /scannow (note the space between sfc and "/")

You may have to run this up to 3 times to fix all the problems

Please perform these steps patiently 👍 and let me know how it goes

Wish you a Great Day. Thank you 😁

Krazy Toad,

Thank you for the informative repy.  My printer is functioning much better now, it was just a matter of becoming familiarized with the process.  Now it's zip 1-2-3.  It's like anything new, once you get setup things go easier but that initiation process can be a brain teaser.

Thanks again for your reply,
