I am m attempting to print selected page ranges from a pdf document.  At first, I was successful, but then the printer would not print the specified range but, instead, a range of pages that I had printed on a previous request.   There is no "print preview" that I am aware of, so I waste a lot of paper and have to print what I want using the "current page" option, which means one page at a time.

@Jack0623

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand the printer doesn't print selected page range from PDF as it should,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you changed the PDF settings according to your preference?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

Print selected PDF pages

  • Open the PDF in Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

  • Open the Pages tab on the left side of the document window if it isn't already open.
In Acrobat X, choose View > Show/Hide > Navigation Panes > Page Thumbnails.
In Acrobat 9, choose View > Navigation Panels > Pages.

  • Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) the page thumbnails you want to print.

  • Choose File > Print.

"Selected pages" is highlighted in the Print Range pane of the Print dialog box.

  • Click OK or Print.

Print specified PDF pages

  • Choose File > Print.

  • In the Print Range pane of the Print dialog box, type the number of the pages you want to print. For a range of pages, use a hyphen. Separate each page or range with a comma or space (such as "4, 7, 15-34, 56").

type the number of the pages you want to print

Non-consecutive pages and a page range specified in the Print Range section of the Print dialog box.

  • Click OK or Print.

Since the issue is related to PDF alone, I recommend you check this link for further assistance: Click here

Keep me posted,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

@Jack0623,

I read the post and thanks for the reply. it is great to have you back. Your time and patience are greatly appreciated. You've displayed unswerving commitment and infinite patience coupled with excellent technical skills to try and resolve it. Kudos to you for a job well done. 🙂

As @Riddle_Decipher is out for the day I am responding on his behalf.

For now, try these steps:

Please uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers at the root level by following these steps:

continues please perform these steps to uninstall the printer drivers.

  • Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed by doing a right-click on the Windows button (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
  • Check in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it. (Right click on the Windows button to access device manager)
  • Go to devices and printers, select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
  • Click on print server properties.
  • You will get a popup, click on the drivers tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there if any.
  • Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
  • Restart the PC.
  • Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
  • Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
  • It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
  • If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
  • Ignore the Regedit option if it cannot be done.
  • Restart the PC again.

Then download the latest full feature driver from http://hp.care/2tt9z1h  and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.

Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.

Now check for issue resolution.

Other things to try:

  • Check to print PDF files by selecting a page range.
  • If the issue continues, then check with a different browser like Google Chrome or Firefox.
  • Also, reset the existing browser and check again.
  • Whichever browser works for you, start printing from that browser only for PDF range printing.
  • Always delete cookies, clear history and cache from the browser before printing.
  • Also, uninstall and reinstall the latest version Adobe Reader and check again.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care and have a blessed week ahead. 🙂

Cheers!
