Hi@Supfar, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Welcome to the HP Support Community I would be happy to help you with your P ENVY Photo 7855  printer. I understand that you are unable to print photos on the 4x6" picture page and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

Adjust the paper size setting:

  1. In the program, you want to print from, click File, and then click Print.
  2. Make sure your printer is in the Name or Printers drop-down list box, and then click Properties, Printer Properties or Preferences.
  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab.
  4. Click Advanced, if necessary, and then click Paper Size.
    Figure : Selecting the correct paper size

  1. Select the paper size that matches the size and type of paper loaded in the printer tray, and then click OK. If there are no matching paper sizes, select the size from the list that is closest to the size of the paper loaded in the tray.
  2. Click OK, and then try to print.

Check the paper source setting:

  1. Remove all the paper from all the printer input trays.
  2. Reload the paper, and then adjust the paper width guides so they gently rest against the edge of the paper stack.
  3. In the program, you want to print from click File and then click Print.
  4. Make sure your printer is in the Name or Printers drop-down list box, and then click Properties, Printer Properties or Preferences.
  5. Click the Paper/Quality tab, and then click Paper Source to select the correct tray.
  6. Click OK, and then try to print.

Click here and refer to the document to perform the above steps.

Keep me posted. Happy to help!

@Supfar,

We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the printer needs to checked taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

It's sad that HP's own tech support can't answer this, it took me a bit, but you can only change this from the Printer's web settings... and the settings appear to be buggy and busted

@supfar

1. Find the printer's IP address.

Your printer has an IP address on your network (you can find this from the physical printer touch screen. It's in the network settings). It will be a number that starts with 192.168.x.x, 172.16.x.x, or 10.x.x.x something

2. Type that ip address into a web browser search bar (MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT GO TO GOOGLE)

(Also you might need to add https:// before the IP address. See the picture below. This is my IP yours will be different)

3. Go to settings. The printer will ask you to login. If you've never been here before, the default username is "admin" and the password is blank. (If it's not, and you don't know your password, you have to factory reset your printer back to original settings.... sorry)

4. Set your papersize for the photo tray.... why the hell the printer doesn't detect this size by way of the paper tray width, or doesn't just give you the option to select whatever you want... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ..... beats me. Seems like dual incompetency from the printing from devices and the HP printer itself.... (coding printer drivers sucks, so we can't be too mean).

In my experience, the printer often doesn't keep this configuration change, and you'll find yourself having to reset it often. I'm too lazy to dig into why the setting isn't sticking. Probably has something to do with me refusing to integrate my printer into the HP app cloud, because I'm not looking forward to the day when that eventually gets botnetted.

But hey, at least you can print 4x6 quick when you need to.

Feel free to buy me a beer if this helps anyone out.... I know I needed one after this
