When I try to print on plain paper with my ENVY Inspire 7900e, I get the following error message:

“Load photo paper print side down in portrait orientation. See printer control panel for more information."

I haven’t inserted any photo paper and want to print on plain paper from the main tray.

I’ve already unplugged the printer and reset it to factory settings, but nothing has helped.

Could somebody please Support? Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the HP Community --

According to the documentation, the printer has both a Photo Paper Tray and a regular tray.

=======================================

Load Paper / Load Media

After you change the paper -- or open and close the intake tray -- it's important to alert the printer to the paper size / type.

Job Configuration

Job setup is dependent on the device (computer, tablet, phone) and the application or software you are using to configure the print settings.

In general, once the printer is aware of the paper size / type, the print settings can be adjusted as needed.

Should the Source (Tray) be set to "Automatic" (or similar) and the "Auto" setting is not working as expected, select the Tray.
