Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The Error 12 on the HP Neverstop 1200W printer typically refers to an issue related to the toner or toner sensor. This can occur when the printer is unable to detect the toner, or if there’s a problem with the toner cartridge or sensor.
Steps to Resolve Error 12 on HP Neverstop 1200W:
Check the Toner Cartridge:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the toner access door and carefully remove the toner cartridge.
- Inspect the toner for any signs of damage or malfunction. Ensure that the cartridge is properly installed.
- If the toner is low or seems damaged, consider replacing it with a new HP Neverstop toner cartridge.
Clean the Toner Contacts: Sometimes, the printer may fail to recognize the toner if the contacts are dirty or covered in toner residue.
- Inspect the toner contacts (the small metal contacts on the toner cartridge and inside the printer where the toner connects).
- Use a clean, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the contacts on both the toner and inside the printer. Be careful not to touch the toner drum or other sensitive parts.
Reinstall the Toner Cartridge:
- After cleaning the contacts, reinstall the toner cartridge into the printer, making sure it clicks securely into place.
- Close the toner access door and turn the printer back on to see if the error persists.
Check for Obstructions:
- Ensure that there are no paper jams or foreign objects blocking the toner path or the printer's internal components.
- Open all relevant compartments and carefully inspect the printer for any obstructions, such as paper debris or torn pieces of paper.
Reset the Printer: A simple reset can sometimes clear error codes:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the printer from the power source for about 1 minute.
- Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and check if the error 12 is resolved.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
