HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e All-in-One Printer

Hello, I bought the HP 9120e and from the first time I turn it on, the critical message ERROR CODE FO0.01.01.02 keeps coming up and even after turning it on, the blue printer cartridge is always reported as newly inserted (this cartridge was included in the delivery). Firmware is up to date according to the app, please help otherwise I have to send the printer back. Thanks

Hi @Berti77,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the error code F0.01.01.02 on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e typically indicates a hardware problem, possibly related to the ink system or cartridges.

Here’s a step-by-step approach to try and resolve the issue:

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the printer’s access door to check the cartridges.
  • Ensure that the blue cartridge is properly installed and seated correctly in its slot. Remove and reinsert it if necessary.

Inspect the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Check the metal contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer for any dirt or debris. Clean them gently with a lint-free cloth.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Update Firmware Again: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Double-check the firmware version to ensure it’s the latest. Sometimes, an update might not have been applied correctly.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • If the above steps don't work, you can perform a hard reset. Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait a minute, then plug it back in and power it on.

Try a Different Cartridge:

  • If possible, try using a different blue cartridge to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the cartridge itself is defective.

Refer to this document:  HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e All-in-One Printer User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
