Edge light - need to turn off

My HP Envy 6055 is in a bedroom and the edge light will not turn off. I can't have the light on all night, so I turn off the printer so I can sleep. I then received an email stating that I must leave my printer on. This makes absolutely no sense.  How do I turn the edge light off?

Cover the offending light bar in some way that makes sense to your situation.

The printer always displays the status light - there is no way to switch it off other than switching off the printer.

That makes no sense.  Why would a BRIGHT light be kept on while the machine is in sleep mode?

3. Find and change the settings from Preferences.

I do understand the sentiment - I cannot give you the answer that you want.

The answer makes sense in the context of how the printer works -- the limitation is one of design.

The options are indeed limited:

Move the printer

Cover the offending light

Adjust the lighting as described in the user manual

Switch off the printer at night

Replace the model with a printer that includes a printer display panel and does not depend on status bar lights to communicate
