Hi there,
I'm Dutch and trying but not succeeding in to enable scan to computer from my Deskjet 3520.
My wireless network is working properly. I can print and scan from my Mac through wireless network connection
I also enabled an Windows 8 computer on the network.
My problem I can't directly scan from the HP printer to my Mac. If my windows PC is on I can select that one, and that works fine. How can i make sure that the HP printer sees my back in the menu.
I have looked in other troubleshooting topics but i can't solve it. My own analysis is that i need to enable scan to computer in my HP utility software. But in the current software i can't find scan settings in the utility program (as mentioned in other troubleshooting topics)
Please advice

Hi there all,
already solved the problem. Issue can be solved by reinstalling the software.
During installation you can choose for minimal installation (which is already selected) or HP recommended installation.
Select HP recommend and the necessary components for scan to computer will also be installed. After this update everything is fine. Potentially an quick fix for HP to change these settings. Will save a lot of users some headaches.
Cheers

Hi billcheeseman,
I'm sorry to hear you are having problems trying to scan with your Deskjet 3520.
The software Jemaliba is referring to is the full feature software and drivers for your Deskjet 3520. I have included a link to HP's Drivers & Downloads web page. You start by entering your HP product name or number and follow the prompts to get the full feature driver for your computer's operating system.

Hi,
Im a new mac user and have bought a 3520. This works fine with my windows 7 pc and i can find the "manage scan to computer" in the Hp Printer assistant
I am unable to find these settings anywhere for the mac though. I have the OSX Mavericks version.
I have reinstalled all up to date software etc. from Hp as suggested in the other replies but i cannot solve this problem which seems to be identical to that of Jemaliba.
The only settings that i have on the web settings in the scan tab are for "embedded web server" webscan. I cannot find how to change this.
When i attempt to scan to computer from my printer, the display reads "computer not found"
Can anyone help please?

Hi Warsop,
I'm sorry to hear that you are running into trouble trying to scan to your Mac computer from your Deskjet 3520.
I have included a document on the steps to take when you get a "Computer Not Found" error message when trying to scan. I know that your Mac is running 10.9, please follow the steps for Mac OS X 10.8. Solution two in the document is how to check the 'Scan to Computer' setting on your Mac.
A 'Computer Not Found' or 'Connection Error' Message Displays during Scanning
