I'm sure I've done something wrong but cannot find it. I'm running latest Word on a MacBook (just reinstalled). For some reason my printer thinks it should print everything backwards. I can't find anywhere where I might have told it to do that by mistake. Only happens with Word. I spent an hour with Microsoft this morning and they reinstalled the product remotely and it looked as if everything was fine but ... then ... nope! Any clues anyone?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.
I understand that you reinstalled the OS on your MacBook and now Word keeps printing backward
I appreciate all your efforts and expertise in troubleshooting this issue.
I would request you to complete all the updates on your MacBook since you just did a reinstall
To check for Mac software updates, open the App Store app on your Mac. Click Updates in the App Store toolbar, then use the Update buttons to download and install any updates listed. Updates installed in the last 30 days appear below this list.
If the issue persists, let's Remove and Re-Add the printer to the MAC Printing Queue
-
Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
-
Figure : Example of the Printers & Scanners window
-
Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, and then do one of the following steps.
-
If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up for AirPrint. Click the printer name, click the minus sign
to delete the printer, click the plus sign
, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.
-
If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, and then continue to the next step.
-
-
Confirm AirPrint or Secure AirPrint displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.
Figure : AirPrint displays in the Use menu
-
Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.

Hi,
I understand your print jobs are printing out backwards. Go to File>Print and in the drop-down without a name go to Layout. If you do not want two-sided printing just uncheck the box and the issue should be resolved.
If you want to print two-sided then make sure the box to "reverse page orientation" is not checked. If not checked change the binding from Long Edge Binding to Short Edge Binding.
Please let us know if you need further help.
