I have an Envy 4510 All-in-One that's stopped printing in color from my desktop computer using a variety of applications. It will print in color from my Android phone using the HP Smart app, though.
I have completed the following troubleshooting steps:
--Ensured the cartridges are new, genuine HP, and properly loaded.
--Attempted to verify that the option to print in color is selected. There is no option offered to print in color.
NOTE: When I use the Windows' Photo app, it's print dialogue offers me the choice; however, when I select "Color," it immediately reverts back to "Monochrome" and states that "Color mode was changed from Color because of a conflict with another printer setting. The same thing happens using the HP Smart app on the desktop.
--Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.
--Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and associated software.
I'm at a loss at this point. Can anyone offer assistance?

Hi @FleetCommander,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Update Printer Driver:
- Ensure you have the latest printer driver installed for your HP Envy 4510. You can download it from the HP Support website.
- After installation, restart your computer.
Check Printer Preferences:
- Open Control Panel on your computer.
- Navigate to Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP Envy 4510, select Printing Preferences.
- Look for a Color or Advanced tab where you can select color printing. If this option is missing, proceed to the next step.
Print Settings in Application:
- When initiating a print job from an application (e.g., Word, Adobe Reader), select Print and check if the color option is available in the print dialog box.
- Verify if the correct printer is selected.
Modify Printer Properties:
- Right-click on your printer in Devices and Printers and select Printer Properties.
- Under the General tab, click Preferences.
- Confirm if there’s a color option available and ensure Color Printing is selected.
Reinstall Printer Driver:
- Sometimes reinstalling the driver can resolve missing options.
- Uninstall the existing driver from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Install the latest driver downloaded from the HP website.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to automatically diagnose and resolve printing issues.
Check Default Printer Settings:
- Ensure your HP Envy 4510 is set as the default printer. Go to Devices and Printers, right-click on the printer, and select Set as default printer.
Update Operating System:
- Make sure your operating system is fully up-to-date. Sometimes driver functionality can be affected by outdated system software.
I hope this helps.
