HI there
I have the same problem. My printer makes a copy in color but when I print from my computer it only does B & W. I have ried your recommendations but at the first stage - "Programs and feature – Select all the HP Envy printer entries and uninstall them." there is no HP envy printer listed. I carried on and did the next few steps but it tells me it cant uninstall the driver as it is currently in use.
Very confused and would appreciate help.
Thank you

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Restart your Laptop and try these steps again:
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Hi- I have the same issue (the printer will not print in colour- only in black and white despite there being enough ink) and followed this advice above and done a root uninstall and reinstall. I print from the iphone app and that prints in colour, so it is an issue with the laptop installation
Please can you advise next steps?

Besides printing in NOT in color I could also not select automatic 2-sided printing.
I tried the steps above and it worked for me. Thumbs up!
It took me now 45 minutes to fix the problem and many test print pages. I am glad I did not signed up to Instant Ink because I would have to pay already just for the test prints,
It is a shame that HP was not able to install the correct driver with the first install. HP seems to put more effort in hooking me up to Instant Ink rather than making sure I have a problem free installation experience. Thumbs down!

Now after having gone through the full procedure above the problem reapeared:
Windows prints documents (PDF and PowerPoint) only in greyscale.
2-sided printing only with manual reinserting of paper possible - despite the fact that the printer can do it automatically.
HP Service please contact [edit] - otherwise I will box-up the printer and return it. This is very frustrating!

@kiliren, Welcome to HP Support Community!
This is most likely an issue with the installed drivers, let us try the steps below-
Try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:
• Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
• When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.
• Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.
Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.
If the issue persists, try adding a TCP/IP port.
- Print a Network Configuration Report from the Printer Settings or Wireless menu.
- Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, click the Ports tab and then click Add Port.
- Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
- Follow the instructions to add a new port using the information listed on the Network Configuration Report.
- Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
