Hi @Kleintjuh_L,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP Envy 5000 series, including the HP Envy 5030, falls under the category of inkjet printers. Inkjet printers work by propelling droplets of ink onto paper and are popular for home and small office use due to their ability to produce high-quality prints with rich colors.
Regarding your interest in printing on transfer paper to iron designs onto a t-shirt or hoodie, yes, you can use an inkjet printer like the HP Envy 5030 for this purpose. However, there are a few important considerations:
Type of Transfer Paper: Ensure you use transfer paper that is specifically designed for inkjet printers. There are different types of transfer papers available in the market, and some are made specifically for inkjet printers while others are for laser printers. Using the correct type is crucial for achieving good quality prints.
Print Quality: For the best results, adjust your printer settings to the highest quality. This ensures that the colors are vibrant and the details are sharp.
Instructions: Follow the transfer paper's instructions carefully. Each brand and type of transfer paper may have specific instructions regarding how to print, how to iron the design onto the fabric, and how to care for the printed garment.
Testing: If possible, do a test print on a small piece of transfer paper and iron it onto a piece of fabric you don't mind potentially ruining. This way, you can adjust your technique or settings before moving on to your actual project.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
