My Envy 6032 purchased December 2021 suddenly began flashing E0 message and try what I May it remains. I’ve factory reset etc and checked the potential paper jams etc but no luck. I have just purchased another Envy 6020e which thankfully allows our family yo print again. However, is my original printer totally u/s as I understand it is out of warranty but I cannot understand what may cause this fault. Any one have any ideas? Presently it’s a large paperweight!

I understand that you are facing issues with Error E0.

 

Excellent description and a great diagnosis. It is greatly appreciated.           

 

Is the printer enrolled in Instant Ink?

Are you using the ink cartridges that came with the printer?

 

An E0 error indicates an unusable cartridge.

This condition occurs when at least one ink cartridge needs attention, is faulty, incorrect, missing, damaged, or incompatible. Reseat both ink cartridges, clean the ink cartridge contacts, restart the printer, and replace one or both ink cartridges if necessary.

 

For more info, refer to this document. If you have already performed all the steps from this document and still having issues, then the printer needs to be checked. 

 

Try updating the firmware by selecting your current OS. Click here

Hi, Thank you for your reply. In answer to your query I cancelled the 2021 printer instant ink as I could not find a solution to the error problem  after undertaking all manner reset and cleaning etc. I requested support from HP but received none other than to say m6 printer was out of warranty! In view of this I purchased a replacement printer 6020e and decided against taking up the instant ink. However I am receiving emails which state 

Your HP InstantInk subscription was canceled on 20 March 2024 and we noticed you still have HP Instant Ink subscription cartridges installed in your HP ENVY 6032 All-In-One Printer.

HP Instant Ink subscription cartridges only work with an active subscription. To continue printing please replace the HP Instant Ink subscription cartridges with cartridges compatible with your printer.”

Well I am NOT using the cartridges from my old non working printer. I am using the basic starter cartridges that came with the 6020e!  As I chose not to take up the instant ink subscription am I not supposed use these starter cartridges?  Can you please clarify?  Thank you.

Thanks for clarifying. Well, the startup cartridges are used during setup only. Try using HP regular cartridges.

However, here's what you need to know & do:

 

If you have an instant ink cartridge on your printer, remove it and discard that, you can only use regular cartridges on your printer once you cancel the program.

 

That said, if you have trouble using regular cartridges, I recommend you turn off the web service using the steps from this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04808536

 

when done successfully, check if it works fine.

Hi again and thank you for your assistance.

Well I decided to purchase HP cartridges to see if my original printer would accept them and clear this weird fault and magically they did!  No more error message or flashing lights!

as you say the original instant ink cartridges are U/S but just why they stopped working and began erroring I’ve no idea and am rather disappointed that the HP help people did not suggest anything like sending replacements when I messaged about this issue!  Whatever, I’ve since passed the old printer on to my daughter with the advisory that they get new cartridges, I’m keeping the ones I purchased for my new printer, my daughter is way more affluent than me :). Thanks again for your input. 👍
