Printer constantly in copy mode at power on and in between print jobs.

My envy is stuck in copy mode

Hi @Wattonguy,

 

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

I'd like to help!

 

Close the Scan/Copy lid and cancel all Copy indicators. The printer resets to standby. Launch any scan app with the lid closed and no documents on glass and the Envy carries out a blank overview scan using all apps. Open lid to insert the document and the Envy immediately defaults to Copy mode and disables the scan function again.

 

What is the OS you are using?

can you also send me the same thing i have the exact problem and cant solve it for the life of me

Again my Envy printer is stuck in copy mode using IPad with latest iOS and laptop using Windows 11 with all updates.  What else do you need?  This is the last HP Printer I will by because HP support always want more info !

Your printer should be in idle state and the light will goes off after few mins. I found this post which shows the same status:

Thanks very much for that. I was thinking it must have been a software update.
