Hi @AnnJ68

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing this—seeing a cryptic error like FO-01-01-04 can be frustrating, especially when you're ready to print. This error typically indicates a firmware or internal communication fault.

To clear the FO-01-01-04 error on your HP Envy 6530e printer, perform a full power reset and check for firmware updates using the HP App. If the error persists, a semi-full reset may be needed.

Perform a full power reset

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the cord back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Power on the printer and check if the error clears.

Update printer firmware via HP App

  • Open the HP App on your Windows 11 PC.
  • Select your Envy 6530e printer.
  • Go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Tools > Printer Updates.
  • Install any available firmware updates.
  • Restart the printer after the update.

Check for paper or cartridge issues

  • Open all access doors and inspect for any jammed paper or loose cartridges.
  • Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges securely.
  • Close all doors properly and restart the printer.

If you'd like help locating the semi-full reset steps for your exact model, I can guide you through that as well. Let me know how the printer responds after the power reset and firmware update.
