HP Recommended

I just discovered that the whirring noise in my office that soundes like a fax machine always transmitting was not my modem, but my printer! Then I found this thread and could not believe that this inconvenience still exists. It´s been 2 years now since the first post, has there been any news regarding this problem? Has HP sent decent power supplies to customers?

Re: the solutions above

I tried this: BOTTOM LEFT BUTTON ONCE, then, TOP LEFT BUTTON 3 TIMES.  Nothing happened

I tried this:  From the Home screen touch the return button area 3-4 times. This did open a Support Menu. Alas, I have no idea how to stop the screen from turning off from here.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

HP Recommended

Hi all -- I ended up calling HP support.  Initially, they claimed that they had never heard of this (I, of course, pointed them to these forums.)  After I was escalated, a tech recommended that they replace the power source at the back of the printer.  They sent me a new one, and it absolutely resolved the problem immediately.

So, my recommendation is -- call.  If the initial tech you get isn't familiar with the problem, ask to be transferred.  It was an easy process!
