Unfortunately, none of these steps "unfroze" my printer. I was unable to perform some suggestions since the printer's screen and Power Button were unresponsive. What are the next steps to troubleshooting my printer? TY

Hi @Paul_D_Y ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP ENVY Photo 7855 is freezing during boot-up, here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open all compartments and carefully check for any paper jams or obstructions that might be causing the printer to freeze.
Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. You can usually find firmware updates on HP's support website or through the HP Smart app.
Reset the Printer to Factory Settings:
- Access the printer’s settings menu.
- Find the option to perform a factory reset. This will clear any potential issues with settings or configurations.
Check for Error Codes:
- If the printer displays any error codes or messages, take note of them. You can look up these codes on HP’s support site for more specific troubleshooting steps.
Inspect Power Supply:
- Ensure that the power supply and cords are properly connected and in good condition. Try using a different power outlet if possible.
Disconnect External Devices:
- If you have any USB drives or other external devices connected to the printer, disconnect them and try rebooting the printer.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Are there any other suggestions for this error? The printer was working fine this morning, and suddenly it's stuck. This is not the first time it happened, and before what worked was to open the lid to expose printing cartridges and then plug it back in. This is no longer working. I cannot check for firmware because the Boot-up is not complete.

I was informed in separate email thread from Support, that my situation was unresolvable and as i was a week out of warranty there was nothing more to do. I took the printer to Best Buy to recycling and purchased a Canon. SORRY
