Printer is hard-wired to USB port on Doze 10  Acer laptop. Printer shows up and is detected by HP smart, but LED panel doesn't turn on and enable printer for operation.

Printer slot light starts as green and turns blue but no further activity occurs. Neither HP Smart (PDF of 2-page docx) nor LibreOffice Writer (docx) can print successfully.

Agent is useless; doesn't understand complex printer or anything beyond power up/down.

I understand you are not able to print. To assist you better, do you have any blinking lights on the printer?

Is the power button light ON?

 

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

 

Print a self test page to check the printer functionality

Touch the Information button .

A Printer Information Page prints.

 

  1. Touch and hold the Information button  for 3 seconds.

    All the control panel buttons light up.

  2. At the same time, touch the Resume and Cancel buttons .

    A Printer Status Report prints.
