Tried all suggested methods by the virtual assistant including removing the printer (remove failed result) and deleting all the printer files in Windows32/Spool but there is a file that is shown as in use which I assume is the culprit.
Need to be able to work but can't as spent time, paper and ink in an effort to resolve the issue without outside help

Hi @GeoffD58,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to deal with a persistent printing issue! If there's a file in use that's preventing you from resolving the problem, you might want to try a few more steps.
- Restart your computer: Sometimes, files can get stuck in use by background processes. A simple restart might clear this up.
- Check Task Manager: Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), go to the "Processes" tab, and look for any processes related to printing or your printer driver. If you find any, end those processes and then try deleting the files again.
- Safe Mode: Boot your computer into Safe Mode and then try deleting the files. To boot into Safe Mode, restart your computer and repeatedly press the F8 key as it boots up. From there, you can try deleting the problematic files.
- System File Checker: Run the System File Checker tool to scan for and repair any corrupted system files that might be causing the issue. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow, then press Enter.
- Printer Troubleshooter: Windows has built-in troubleshooters for printers. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, then select Printer and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.
- Check Printer Software: Ensure you have the latest printer drivers and software installed. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause issues. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your Envy Pro 6430.
Hopefully, one of these steps helps you resolve the issue and get back to work without any further printing problems!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the detailed response and suggestions.
I have tried different methods earlier today and seem to have succeeded in resolving the issue which saw the printer requiring me to repeatedly print the information sheet.
Hopefully it's not going to happen again
Cheers
Geoff
