*update 3/17/25: the error 024A493F was cleared a few days ago. The green flashing light under glass still an issue. Also any tips to secure power cord in unit?

 

For 2 days prior had a thin green flashing light under scan glass left side. That started after trying to print a page from a safe website 3 days ago

This morning had paper jam error, no paper jam, wasn’t using printer
I have tried unplugging unit.( Btw the power cord keeps falling out.)
This is a new all in one less than 2 wks old.

It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 7602 printer is experiencing multiple issues, including the error code 024a493f, flashing lights, and a persistent paper jam error. 

 

Here's how you can troubleshoot:

 

1. Error Code 024a493f and Flashing White Status Light

Perform a Power Reset:

Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.

Wait for at least 30 seconds, then plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors) and reconnect it to the printer.

Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.

 

Update Firmware:


HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.

2. Green Flashing Light Under Scan Glass

This could indicate a calibration or scanning issue. Ensure there are no obstructions under the scanner glass.

Clean the scanner glass and the area around it with a lint-free cloth to remove any dust or debris.

 

3. Paper Jam Error (No Paper Jam)

Inspect for Hidden Paper:

Open all access doors and trays to check for any small pieces of paper or debris that might be triggering the sensor.

Use a flashlight to inspect hard-to-see areas.

Clean the Rollers:

Gently clean the paper feed rollers with a damp, lint-free cloth to ensure smooth paper movement.

Reset the Printer:

Perform the same power reset as mentioned above to clear any false error messages.

 

4. Power Cord Issues

Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the wall outlet.

Thanks for responding. 
I was able to clear the 024a493f error code with flashing status light several days ago.

The paper jam error came on once and disappeared.

the green flashing strip of light on left side under glass is still occurring. I’ve had this new printer for 3 weeks. Scanner glass is clean.

And the power cord is still disconnecting from the  back of printer with any movement. It has never connected properly.
