Error code 0xc19a0023 on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer typically indicates a problem with the ink system, such as an issue with the printhead or the ink cartridges. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:
Step 1: Reset the Printer
- Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet or power strip and to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
Step 2: Check and Clean the Printhead
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.
- Remove all the ink cartridges.
- Lift the printhead latch.
- Remove the printhead by lifting it straight up.
- Clean the electrical contacts on the printhead using a lint-free cloth and a small amount of distilled water.
- Allow the printhead to dry for at least 10 minutes.
- Reinsert the printhead and secure it with the latch.
- Reinstall the ink cartridges.
Step 3: Update Printer Firmware
- Make sure your printer is connected to a network with an active Internet connection.
- Go to 123.hp.com/OJP8720 to download and install any available firmware updates.
Step 4: Run Automated Troubleshooting
Use the automated tools available in your HP Smart app or on the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) to diagnose and fix the problem.
I hope this helps.
