My printer just so happened that it started make random "scanning movements" like Its jammer or something;
I tried to reset it, bc I got Err30, but I didnt help; I tried then a complete reset and didnt do much, whenever i try to use the "Scan" from the Hp Smart app, I just tells me that the printer is busy. Some times after trying to scan, the scanner "jumps" and dont sit in what I would tell is the correct position (completely to the left).

Hi @kir44,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
1. Power Reset (the right way)
Even if you’ve tried before, do this methodically:
Turn off the printer.
Unplug all cables (power + USB/network).
Open the scanner lid and gently move the scanner bar all the way to the right and then left.
Check for:
Paper debris
Loose plastic bits
Dirt or dried ink
Close everything.
Plug the power cable directly into a wall outlet (no surge protector).
Power it back on.
2. Check the Scanner Light Path
Open the scanner lid and observe when you turn on the printer:
Does the scanner light turn on and attempt to move?
If it makes a grinding/jumping sound, that could mean a misaligned belt or dirty encoder strip.
3. Use HP Smart App Diagnostics
In HP Smart, go to your printer > Settings > Advanced Settings > Printer Reports > Print Status Report and Scanner Quality Report.
If it says “Scanner busy” or stalls — it may still be locked from the last failed job.
4. Check for Scanner Lock (if present)
Some printers have a scanner lock switch (especially during shipping). Make sure it's unlocked. It’s usually a small sliding tab near the scanner bed or underneath the lid.
I hope this helps.
