My printer has been loyal to me for many years.
Now it is giving me the error: 59.C0
I have already read a lot, but the error is persistent.
Is there any chance of bringing my printer back to life or do I have to retire it after 9 years?

Hi @rogaven,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the 59.C0 error on your HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw. It typically indicates a problem with the ITB (Intermediate Transfer Belt) motor or the ITB itself. This error can also be caused by other issues, such as a problem with the fuser or the drive assemblies.

Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open all access doors and remove any paper jams or foreign objects.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions in the paper path or around the ITB.

Inspect the ITB:

  • Open the printer and locate the ITB (usually found in the area behind the toner cartridges).
  • Check for any visible damage or misalignment.
  • Ensure the ITB is properly seated and not obstructed.

Inspect the Toner Cartridges:

  • Remove and reseat all toner cartridges.
  • Check for any toner spills or leaks that might be causing the issue.

Perform an ITB Cleaning:

  • If your printer has an ITB cleaning option in the maintenance menu, run it to see if that resolves the issue.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset to clear any software glitches that might be causing the error.
  • Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can fix bugs and errors.

I hope this helps.

I have already carried out all the suggested recommendations several times.
There is probably hardware damage after all.
Now I have to consider whether it is worth repairing the printer or whether I should look for something new.
As I said, the printer is from 2015.
Nevertheless, I would like to thank you for your support.
