My Deskjet 3520 Printer, Product No. CX052B has recently (couple of months intermittently) been troublesome on start-up displaying the error code 0x83c00009 nos_loader_app . I have usually overcome the issue by switching the device off and back on, and recently I ran the HP Print & Scan Doctor from my HP Notebook, which displayed the message - all issues fixed and updates installed. The device was okay for about a week but yesterday the error code returned, and now the device will not power on, the on button light flashes and finally it will not communicate through the USB cable or wireless connections. I have unscrewed and removed the upper section completely, there is no paper jamming and everything seems physically operational. The fault remains, however, the device was purchased in August 2014 and so will be six years old next month, and so I guess it is time to replace. Pity, it has been a good product and I have only recently bought new ink cartridges which are all separate on this model, the previous HP printer model I had was one black and one tri colour and it looks like the new models are the same once more. The question is; is it a problem that can be solved, or is it beyond economical repair and has had its day.

Thank you for you reply Betty.
Unfortunately the firmware update did not work simply because the printer is not communicating outside of its casing. No longer through the wireless connection or by plugging in the USB cable. My HP Envy notebook cannot find the device, and so when it arrives at the stage of identifying the printers serial number to precede the download, it remains blank.
Also the 3520 will not switch off by the power button , the screen window just circles around to displaying the error code again without so much as a sound, it remains dead. The only way to stop it is to disconnect the power source.
Time to buy a nice new printer.
Many thanks,
Geoff.

Dear Betty,
I could not find a way to speak to somebody at HP Support. My search just took me back to the same methods of digital responses which have not been of any help to date.
However, my Deskjet 3520 is now fully operational.
I was watching a You Tube video on my computer right next to the printer, and on an impulse plugged the power lead back in to the 3520. It soon displayed the error code and so I held the power on button down permanently whilst watching the video. It circled round and around back to the error code, but after some time it suddenly displayed the shutting down message. I realised it must have powered up for the first time in a week, but the button held down took it straight to shutdown. I lifted the complete upper section to expose the works, and removed and replaced the paper feeder cover, finger still on the power button, to no avail. I tugged at the cartridge carriage, it was immovable but when I pushed it back towards its home position, finger still holding down the power button, the 3520 came alive and the carriage came out and returned to the home position. I closed the top cover section down and the printer displayed ink cartridges not present (I had taken them out days ago to scrap the device). I put the cartridges back in and the printer went through it usual initialization process, then went back to the Firmware download page, with the USB lead connected and the system recognised my device. The firmware updated successfully and I then reconnected the device by wireless. I updated Print and Scan Doctor and ran the system test with no faults detected. The 3520 is now working just fine and I am leaving it powered up all the time now (I always switched it off after use, is this right or wrong?). It shuts the display down in its dormant mode and when I want to print it does not have to go through all that whirring and set up, it just comes alive and prints instantly. I think I will always leave my printers on in future, but I don't want to switch this one off for fear of the error code returning. I am HP printer happy now😁.
Geoffrey.
