Yeah, this is just a bad look for HP all around. We're just the ones that noticed it and know how to post on a forum. Imagine how many 1,000s of other users are being affected by this and just think their printer broke.

Anyone that tried the firmware link they posted - did you also get a code "49" on your LCD panel?

Now I cannot even access the printer via the web interface anymore.

Can you please post the executable for the proper version - even if it's the bugged 20250209?

Thanks.

Or is there a link anywhere that actually works so I can browse via FTP the files available for this printer model?

Bueller? Anyone?

I did not get code 49. It just did nothing. I rebooted and we're back to error 11 and the latest firmware for my M234dw

Thanks for that - I unplugged the printer and it became accessible again - with Error 11. Same as you.

So it's bricked for now. I'm glad another user said they had the same issue with a brand new toner (saved me $65 plus a trip to Staples).

I went out and got a similar Brother printer for $144 at Walmart. Not ideal - but no more auto firmware updates - plus the new printer has it's own 250 sheet paper tray and manual sheet feeder which is nice. Just a little bigger than the HP. It's a little slower first page out - but I'm not in any particular hurry.

Anyone want to buy a used HP MFP-M235dwe? Only 500 pages printed!

You're welcome. I'll just be using my office printer until HP decides to fix or replace these bricked printers.

I highly doubt there would be any restitution for rendering the printers (we paid for) useless. Nothing beyond a weak "we're sorry about that" and maybe a 10% off coupon on their subscription plan.

Sad state of affairs when this is all we expect out of these monolithic mega-corporations. Totally lost touch with the consumer.

PS - what they *should* be doing asap - is pushing out the previous version to every single printer that got the new version. Don't they test these firmware updates in-house before sending them to the public?

HP Recommended

They definitely did not test this and you're absolutely right, they make not do right by us and just ignore this completely.

Seems like a lot of us had the same ER11 problem at the same time frame.  Could it be linked to a firmware upgrade and caused a problem?  My firmware date code is 20250209.

Sure is. That firmware bricked all of our printers. We have no word from HP. I can't even put in a trouble ticket.

Me too.  I can’t even register my printer as their website will not recognize my product code and serial number.

Now, I can’t print my taxes!

It would be nice if there was a firmware version to revert back to.  If the newer firmware is not compatible with my M234sdw, then why was it pushed to my printer?
