Hi, I gave an HP Laserjet MFP M234dwe with a genuine HP toner cartridge. The printer did an automatic firmware update a few weeks ago, and now I get Error 11 all the time. I did not ask for this firmware update and it was working well before that. What is the fix for this?

Hi aaa1237
You could upgrade the firmware with below steps:
If your printer is connected to network with LAN or Wireless:
- Open a web browser on a computer or mobile device and enter the printer's IP address to open the EWS page.
- Click on 'System' and sign in with 'admin' as the username and the printer PIN as the password.
- On the left panel, click 'Administration' and then 'Check Now' to check for the latest firmware. Click ‘OK’ to start FW update. Please do not interfere with or power off the printer during FW update. It may take a few mintues depending on network speed.
- Once the printer powers on after the firmware upgrade, check the Firmware Datecode from Device configuration. It should be 20250311.
If the issue is not resolve, you may need contact HP support.
If your printer is not connected to network:
- You can download the firmware update utility
- Enter printer product name , e.g HP Laserjet MFP M234dw in the searching box on https://support.hp.com/ie-en/drivers/printers
- Download the 20250311 Firmware Update Utility
- Connect your printer with a USB cable to computer, and run the utility.
Note: If the printer displays the Er11 error or supply error, this firmware update can only be performed using a USB cable. Firmware updates via LAN or wireless will not be supported in this condition. For network connected printers, use embedded web server to update the firmware.
- Printer will power on itself after Firmware update. If the issue is not resolve, you may need contact HP support.
