@Susan28205, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code OXB8093B62 you're seeing on your HP OfficeJet 8015e typically indicates a scanner system failure or a firmware-related issue. Let's walk through some steps to resolve this:

Power Reset the Printer

This clears temporary errors:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips).
  • Turn the printer back on.

Try scanning again.

Check Scanner Bar Movement

  • Open the scanner lid.
  • Press the Copy button.
  • Watch the scanner bar - it should light up and move across the glass.
    • If it doesn’t move or light up, the scanner hardware may be faulty.

Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause scanning errors:

  • Go to the HP support page.
  • Enter your OS and download the latest firmware.
  • Install and restart the printer.

Reinstall the Printer Software

Sometimes a clean reinstall helps:

  • Remove the printer from your system (via Printers & Scanners settings).
  • Download and reinstall using the HP Smart App.

If the issue persists after these steps, it may be a hardware issue. We suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
Kindly follow this link to locate the nearest HP service center: HP® Service Center Locator - United States | HP® Support
(Select the country from the dropdown menu and enter the city name or pincode)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
