Hi

can someone help me with an error code I’m getting. The error code on my OfficeJet 4650 is OXB9380FC5. It’s on the screen and the little icons to the left just keep flashing. I have already unplugged the unit from the wall socket and I unplugged the plug from the printer and then plugged it back in after about four minutes and still showing the same error message.

is my printer garbage now?

I appreciate anyone’s help thank you.

Hi @Finn48,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are getting an error on your HP Officejet 4650 printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To assist better-

1) Did you make any changes to your router?

2) Was there any changes made to the printer/?

While you respond to that, let's try the below steps:

Step 1:Perform a power reset on the printer:

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP Recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet
  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Step 2: Update the printer firmware:

  • Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your PC.
