my Envy 6020E still has error message "tray is open" even though I have checked everything and reset the printer. It all starteed after i had a paper jam.

The "Tray is Open" error may occur after a paper jam, even if you have cleared the jam and reset the printer. Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check the Tray Position:

  • Ensure that the tray is properly closed and seated. Pull out the tray and then push it back in firmly.

Inspect for Objects:

  • Inspect the paper tray area for any foreign objects or remaining pieces of paper that might be causing the error.

Reset the Printer:

  • Sometimes, a simple reset can clear such errors. Follow these steps to reset your HP printer:
    • Turn off the printer, then disconnect the power cord.
    • Wait for 60 seconds before reconnecting the power cord.
    • Turn the printer back on and check if the error message is cleared.

Checking for False Jam:

  • Follow the steps in the HP provided document to ensure you have properly cleared all areas of potential paper jam.

Found the problem to tray open error message. One of the clips under the tray is broken(white clip). I need to order a new tray but can’t find it on the hp site. When I look it says the tray isn’t available yet.

Since the tray isn't available on the HP website, I recommend visiting an HP service center for assistance.
