Hi @hrm3rd,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for reaching out. We understand how confusing and unexpected it can be to see a Java error message like: java.io.IOException: Secondary server not ready…especially when you're just trying to use your HP OfficeJet 5258 All-in-One Printer on Windows 11. Let’s walk through what this means and how to resolve it
Steps to Resolve the Issue
Step 1: Restart Everything
- Restart your computer, printer, and router.
 - This refreshes network connections and clears temporary glitches.

Step 2: Check Internet Connection
- Make sure your computer has a stable internet connection.
 - Try visiting www.hp.com to confirm connectivity.

Step 3: Update HP Software
- Go to the HP OfficeJet 5258 All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.
 - Download and install the latest version of HP Smart or HP Easy Start.
 - This ensures compatibility with HP’s servers and Windows 11.

Step 4: Use HP Diagnose & Fix Tool
HP offers a built-in tool to fix common printing and connection issues:
- Download the HP app from HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site.
 - Open the app and select your printer.
 - Click “Diagnose & Fix” under the printer menu.
