This error codes pops up after switching on the printer. When it appears I can power cycle the printer and the printer starts up normally. I can print for a short while. After a short while (sometimes minutes) the error code reappears

Hi @ArPou,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
The error code 0xc0260000 TRTHREADSTOP C on your HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer typically indicates a firmware or internal thread failure, which can cause intermittent startup and printing issues. Since you're able to temporarily resolve it by power cycling, the issue may be related to outdated firmware, corrupted print jobs, or internal memory glitches.
1. Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause recurring errors. You can download the latest firmware here: 🔗 HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
Select Windows 11 as your OS and install the Firmware Update Utility.
2. Use HP Smart App – Diagnose & Fix
HP Smart includes a built-in tool to fix common issues:
- Download the app from the Microsoft Store.
- Open the app > Select your printer > Click Diagnose & Fix.
🔗Use Diagnose & Fix in the HP app to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support
3. Clear Print Queue and Reset Printer
- Cancel all print jobs from your computer.
- Disconnect the printer from power for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect and wait for it to fully initialize before sending a new job.
4. Restore Network Settings (if using Wi-Fi)
- On the printer, go to Settings > Wireless > Restore Network Settings.
- Reconnect the printer using the HP Smart app or manually via Wi-Fi.
5. Factory Reset the Printer (if the issue persists)
If the error keeps returning:
- Press and hold the Power + Cancel buttons together for 10 seconds.
- This resets the printer to factory defaults.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
