Same for me deskjet 2540. Please help. It seems to be a common problem. Or should I just buy a different (make of) printer?

Hi @Geoff18350,
Welcome to HP Support Community. This is a great place to post questions and find answers.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are getting Error code: EBS00P0004 with your HP printer.
Please follow the steps listed below to reset the unit.
1. With printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
3. Wait 60 seconds.
4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
NOTE: HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
5. Turn the printer on.
Hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
