Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand you are getting this error on the printer screen.

Let's try a power reset on the printer:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.(do not skip any troubleshooting steps, even if you feel steps are repeating)
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Hello, echo lake,

Thank you so much for your reply, however I am now unable to turn the printer on. I can't see there's much I can do now so a new printer for me I reckon!

Thanks again.
