HP 4635 all in one printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP 4635 all in one printer unplugged and moved. Came on with various error codes before locking up completely.  Makes no noise.  Eventually after plugging it in a number of times per HPs terrible instructions the screen lit up with error code OXB80A7000.  Can find no key to HPs error codes.  What does this code mean and can my printer be saved.  There is no comms between printer and computer.  Printer is essentially frozen.

Thanks for any help

@Kokyu,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Is the carriage moving freely?

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  2. Remove USB cable, if present.
  3. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  4. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

No the carriage does not move.  As for following the HP recommended steps, I've been doing that for awhile and it's not a solution to this problem.

I've designed and worked on electronic systems for a long time and find it troubling that HP would bother to provide error codes with no key to explain the identified error or possible solutions.  Apparently the only solution HP provides is "reset" which has done nothing to resolve this error code or any other error codes I've received.

Hopefully you detect a hint of frustration with HP.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
