I have HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 which is giving me the error message "Cannot Print: Connect Printer to Update HP Instant Ink Status." However, my printer is connected and I can't find anything online to help me resolve this problem. I also can't find a human associated with HP Printer or customer service or any websites that can help with this problem. Please help.

Hi @bobbied2613,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that dealing with printer issues can be frustrating. Let's try a few steps to troubleshoot the problem with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710.
- Check Internet Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet. You may need to restart your router or reconnect the printer to the Wi-Fi network to ensure a stable connection.
- Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's control panel or the HP website. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and look for firmware updates.
- Check HP Instant Ink Subscription: If you are enrolled in the HP Instant Ink program, make sure your subscription is active and there are no issues with your payment method. You can log in to your HP Instant Ink account online to verify the status.
- Restart the Printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. This simple step can often resolve temporary glitches.
- Reinstall the Printer Driver: Uninstall the current printer driver from your computer and reinstall the latest driver from the official HP website. Make sure to download the correct driver for your operating system.
- Reset the Printer: As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
Remember to be cautious when performing a factory reset, as it will erase all personalized settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I'm having the same issues, and my printer is hard wired. It just started this week. The trouble shooting provided does not help because it is connected to the internet. If I click OK the error message it will print but I should not have to do that. When I go to HP Instant Ink it just spins and cannot connect to the server. (HP Officejet Pro 9018)
