My HP Officejet Pro 8710 constantly shows the error "There is a problem with the printer. Turn the printer off, then on". I have unplugged it to reset it but wasn't successful. I see several people experiencing the same issue. Can somebody assist? thanks.

This was posted by someone else on 24 July. It works, but getting the BL thing is ridiculous. Had to keep pressing random spots on the lower left corner of the screen before I finally got the Support Menu after a few seconds' delay.
Here's what worked for me with my HP Officejet Pro 8710:
(1) Press BL four times. The BL button is not on the screen, but is next to it at the bottom left. This gives a menu which should have something like "Support Menu".
(2) Press "Support Menu"
(3) Up/Down arrows to "Resets Menu". Press OK.
(4) Up/Down arrows to "Semi-full reset". Press OK.
The unit will reset and power back on. The nice thing about this was that it retained all of my settings including my password and wifi settings.

Thanks. I finally got the BL thing and followed the other steps and my printer is back to normal. The BL is rather non-intuitive. You have to tap the bottom left of the screen blindly and expect to hit it. But once you get the "support menu" to show, the following steps are straightforward.

Since you're new, you didn't send this, posted
