Hi @dennisbye,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Performing a factory reset on an HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 printer may vary slightly depending on the specific model and firmware version. However, here are general steps that you can try. Keep in mind that a factory reset will erase all settings and return the printer to its default state.
Power Off the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
Wait for 10-15 Seconds:
- Allow the printer to sit without power for about 10 to 15 seconds.
Power On the Printer:
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
Press and Hold Certain Buttons:
- On the printer control panel, look for buttons like 'Cancel' or 'Back' and 'Wireless' or 'Information'.
- Press and hold these buttons simultaneously for about 5-10 seconds.
Wait for the Reset:
- Keep holding the buttons until you see the printer start the reset process. This may involve lights flashing or the printer powering off and on.
Configure the Printer:
- Once the reset is complete, the printer will prompt you to set it up again. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the basic settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for the suggestion. The only physical button on the 8025 is the power button and after it powered on, the only button below the interface is a "?" taking me to the help menu. After you select an option, back and home soft buttons appear on the screen and I've tried every combination and can't get it to reset.
I've seen other threads with the same question where HP responds with "I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer." Could someone send me that information if it's not possible to post it?

The product is not under warranty so that's not an option. I'm just asking for the solution that has been offered other customers as doing this is undocumented publicly by HP yet is a feature of the product.

Alden4 - as I cannot contact support for this product since it's out of warranty, why won't you provide the same information as other agents have given other owners? Do I need to throw out the printer as I cannot connect it to another wireless network with it locked?

Hi @dennisbye,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with connecting your Printer on the network.
Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the network again.
1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.
2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.
3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

I want to reset the printer and it is locked.
Please send instructions on how to reset the printer if it has been locked.
The employee who set it up is no longer with the company and we do not have access to the password.
