@lopezm1964

Thank you for posting on HP Forums, MKazi is at your service.

I understand that your HP Officejet 4630 e-All-in-One Printer powers on and off by itself. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did any hardware changes take place on the printer recently?
  • Do you see any errors or blinking lights on the printer while it is on?

While you respond to that, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
  • Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the issue persists then please search for a firmware update for your HP printer and download and install it via this link: www.hp.com/drivers

NOTE: The firmware update is operating system specific.

The printer needs to be restarted after the firmware update is successfully installed on your computer.

If the printer continues to power on and off by itself then you may reset the printer. Resetting the printer will restore it to its original factory condition. I have sent you a private message with the reset steps.

Hope this information helps. Keep me posted. Good luck! 🙂
