@JustinLonechild,

Good Day. Thank you for reaching out to the Hp community. I reviewed the case and it will be a genuine pleasure to assist you. Awesome presentation of the issue and some great observations were also made. Kudos to you for that.

  • Is it a wireless or USB connection?
  • Do you plan to restore network defaults on the printer?
  • Why do you need to reset the printer?
  • Is it not working correctly?

For now, try these steps:

Now check if the issue gets resolved. If it continues and you want to restore network defaults on the printer, then from this user guide link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04649694 follow directions from page 73 on how to do it.

Now check if it gets reset. Also, try these steps again:

Press Power Button + Cancel button while connecting the Power cable.

Network defaults on this printer.

Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

Now check if it resets the printer.  If it does do it, I will send you a private message to assist you with the next course of action. Check your forum private message box in the upper right corner next to the bell icon.

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

Ok the problem I am having logging in to the printer, I set it up over a year ago and cannot remember the password to change the wireless settings. I managed to connect using the WPS but I would like to login to printer to have access to the settings. I cannot make any changes using the setup software, most likely because i have user name and password setup on it.. thanks for your reply..

@JustinLonechild,

I read the quick response. Thanks for the update. It is wonderful to hear from you again.

Did you try the resets that I provided? It should fix the issue.

Restore network defaults on the printer as suggested in my previous post. It will remove the password and reset it to factory defaults.

Then use the wireless setup to connect to the printer. refer to the same user guide from my previous post.

If the issue continues, then follow instructions from my private message to get further support.

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead

I wasn’t able to reset the web login, I was able to reset everything else except login to printer. I was able to remember the password. But for future reference I sure would like to know how to reset the web login to factory defaults. I am hp laserjet certified. And have a A + certification. So I am very knowledgeable and did not find any solutions to this problem. Any ideas would you can provide me would be helpful. Thank you.
