Hello there,

 

I am trying to print with my HP PSC1410, and I was wondering what is normal for fast draft printing. I mostly print text in black and white and I am asking as I used the option to save on costs and time. Some text came out blurred, barely legible if legible, consistency of printing quality was lacking as well. I am unsure but the problem aggravates the more pages are printed.

I am asking because I was thinking my black ink cartridge was running low, but on on other options like Fast Normal at 600dpi and Fast Normal at 300dpi printing seemed fine.

So I am wondering whether it is a cartridge / printer issue or whether what I described above is normal for Fast Draft printing. Regretfully I did not keep the Fast Draft printed papers to post their pictures.

I understand that you are facing print quality issues with your HP PSC 1410 All-in-One Printer when it prints in fast draft mode.

 

In the fast draft mode, the printer uses less ink. Hence, it's only ok while printing only texts.

 

You may try to clean the printer from the HP toolbox by following the link: Using HP Diagnostic Tools for HP Printers in Windows

Thanks a lot for your reply. I installed the HP Toolbox as linked by your kind self. I have cleaned the cartridges and quality was good. I also printed a document in Fast Draft and I had no problems. I hope that this actually fixes my problem, as I only print when needed and as such problems would be identified further on.
