Hi @Nancee3,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're trying to reconnect your HP Envy 7640 printer to the internet and you're prompted for a password, it's likely asking for your Wi-Fi network password. Here's how you can find it.
- Check Router/Modem: Look on your Wi-Fi router or modem. Often, the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are printed on a sticker on the device. If you or someone else changed the password, it might be listed there.
- Check Documentation: If you have the documentation that came with your router, the Wi-Fi network name and password may be listed there. Alternatively, you can usually find documentation online by searching for your router's make and model.
- Router Configuration Page: You can access your router's configuration page through a web browser. Typically, you enter the router's IP address into the address bar of your browser and log in with administrative credentials. Once logged in, you can navigate to the wireless settings section to view or change your Wi-Fi network password.
- Contact Internet Service Provider (ISP): If you're unable to find the password using the above methods, you can contact your internet service provider. They should be able to provide you with the necessary information.
- Reset Router: As a last resort, you can reset your router to its factory settings. This will typically reset the Wi-Fi network name and password to the defaults printed on the router. However, be aware that doing this will also erase any custom settings you've configured on the router.
Once you have the Wi-Fi network password, you can enter it on your HP Envy 7640 printer to reconnect it to the internet.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
